Three babies!

Hello everyone!

The babies are doing really well. They are now eating half of their feedings from bottles, rather than through the tubes in their noses. They are also learning to breastfeed, although they only get to practice when Mom is there (about twice a day). They are quick studies--food seems to be something they are extremely interested in. :) And not surprisingly, given all that food, they are also gaining weight rapidly: Anna is nearly 4 lbs., Mattie is about 4.5 lbs., and Noah is almost 5 lbs.!

Noah and Mattie are now in the same open-air crib, and Anna will join them when she gets a little bit bigger. Anna still needs a little extra oxygen sometimes, but I think you'll see in the pictures below that she is really filling out nicely! Mattie seems to be a little calmer these days and likes to show off her chubby little cheeks. Anna has become the feisty one. The nurses asked me to bring in some colorful pictures to "give her something to do" as she doesn't like to sleep as much as the other two. And Noah continues to just hang out. He is amazingly good natured, complaining only when something really bad happens, like being naked and cold before his bath. Also, he has a surprisingly large head. It's really strange because he seems really big when he is wrapped up, but much tinier when he is unwrapped.

One of the nurses was shocked that I had never held all three at the same time so she helped me get them all together. Here are some pictures proving that I really do have three babies, all of whom are extremely adorable!

Once they are eating all of their food by bottle or breast, they will be able to come home. The nurses seemed to think they would be in the hospital for another couple of weeks at least though. I can't wait to have them all the time!
